Hi everybody,

Let me introduce myself.

My name is Paolo, I come from the north of Italy (Milan) and last Saturday I ordered my third Alfa Romeo: 2016 4C Coupé in Stromboli grey with 18-19 rims and yellow braking calipers.

Tha car has been fitted with standard exhaust and standard suspensions, since I would like to drive it in everyday life (even if I do drive 5-6k km per year, not as much to be honest).
My goal was to make it identical to the one which rounded Goodwood Festival of Speed in summer 2013.

As I told you, the 4c is my third Alfa Romeo. I own a 2005 GT 3.2 V6 (with RIAR homologation), in Stromboli grey too and a 2011 Giulietta 1.4 Multiair 170bhp fitted with qv pack (which now is on its way to a new owner).

My father and myself are very fond of the brand and the decision to purchase a 4c was made after driving it on the recently restored Arese plant racetrack (and in the Arese neighbourhood) and in order to keep it "for life". They say "4c is 4ever" in the latest spot.:grin2:

My dealer told me that the car is supposed to be delivered on the end of February/beginning of March. Can't wait, as you may understand.

Meanwhile I will seek for most infos I can in the forum.

Thanks for the add and enjoy your 4c even for me!

Welcome :)

It's going to be a long wait, so I'll type slow. This will give you more to read while you wait ;)

I didn't special order my 4C. But I was on a waiting list for eleven months. So, as they say, "I feel your pain."

Once you get your Bella and drive it just a short distance, you'll know it was worth the wait.

I've been daily driving my LE for almost two years now and she's still as enjoyable now as she was that first day. Maybe more so.

I spent about three weeks in Italy recently and never saw a 4C either so agree with other member, not too many 4Cs in Italy, you will be a star!
Ciao and welcome.
4C is 4ever... Nice catch phrase, can I borrow it?

Of course you can!
I wish to make a small sticker with that phrase to be put on the back window.

4 me my 4c will be 4ever... no car gives me the emotions the 4c gives me.

Moreover, the 4c will be my personal gift for having become lawyer. Here in Italy the exam is quite difficult so I had to celebrate my success after long period of studying!

Hi Paulo and welcome, you'll love your 4C and the mountains are a great place for it. I took my Spider S4 over the Alps in the company of six other classic Alfas a few years ago. I'm off to Tuscany at the end of the month with a a group of fellow Alfisti', it's an annual pilgrimage to the country that gave birth to one of the greatest motoring marques ever.

All,

Just an update.

My dealer confirmed me that my order for the 4c has been put in place, but with a product code other than the one for model years '14,'15,'16.

This means that it is likely the 4c my '17 will have an update (the new front similar to Giulia is the most quoted, and some say an update of the gearbox)...

Accordingly the estimated date of delivery of my 4c has been postponed from the 12th week of 2017 to the 23rd week of 2017.

My dealer suggests that this is because the update of the car is due to be launched in March at Geneva autoshow.

I'll keep you updated

Interesting, although experience has told us that dealers aren't always well-informed as to the goings on at Modena.
Still, all or some of this could be true.
I'd find it odd that a car in possibly its last year, would get a cosmetic upgrade (unless it were some simple thing that did not require retooling).
I guess, if the Spider lives on (and since it shares the nose cone with the coupe), it is not impossible that a mid-model refresh has taken place.
The gear box change might be software, the cooling duct found in N American models, or a different shift actuator arm that a few people have reported receiving as a solution to transmission problems.

Anyway, having a product code and a date (don't plan your life around that date, by the way) is a good start.
Let us know what else you find out!

By surfing on Italian forums the envisaged upgrades are the following:
the front, which should be updated with one similar to Giulia's (see my pic above as a render);
the side airbag, which becomes standard on European specs due to homologation issues.

Apart from the above, some say the Akrapovich exhaust will become standard, but actually I see it very unlikely.

Think we will see it in March in Geneva.
My 4c was due to be delivered on February at first, but now it is likely to arrive in May, due to this FL.

In the meantime some special editions for the European market have been released.
