True enough. But the French give in a bit on national pride from time-to-time. The star of the Louvre is the "Mona Lisa" after all.

Speaking of French national pride, the car should be France Blue.

I like the Alpine A110 a lot. Since they're not coming to America, I guess I'll never see one though. I don't think I have to like my 4C any less to admire the A110. In fact, a blue A110 would probably get along just fine with the Rosso Alfa 4C in my garage. Certainly better than a Cayman.

20th century history might suggest otherwise.

Depends on which period of 20th century history you're referring to. Italy was allied with France and against Germany in WWI. Besides, the Cayman would try to hog much more of the garage than either the A110 or the 4C.

I don't plan on getting rid of my 4cLE anytime soon (will continue using and enjoying EuroCompulsion Products). Still think that the Lotus Exige/Elise and the new A110 have a better rear suspension than the 4c.
Unfortunately, you are probably right in not expecting to see the new A110 officially in the US for at least three years.
I am old enough to have owned two A110s which were rear engine and not mid-engine. We used to swap racing Renault and Gordini engines in and out for track testing.
Will just have to have one if it ever makes it to this country, Infiniti/Nissan could use a Halo Car like Alfa Romeo did

Juste read in a mag that people from Alpine were joking at Geneva motorshow about the 4C being much heavier than said by Alfa when they weighted one. Not the first time I read that, it was always by people on forums who don't know what they talk about but this time not....I read here that some of us weighted their cars and didn't have a bad surprise, so what about that rumor ?

Recent post by new member Gale, about just weighing his car (corner weighing, so an accurate scale, not something that's "going to be within 100 lbs or so" ;-) )

This brings total to 925kg (all the fluids + 1/2 full tank of gas, without driver), so the dry weight should be 895kg, like a factory specifies.
Of course, Alfa did the magic of quoting the "dry weight" to get the maximum effect for the car.
And that's the Euro car - ours in N. America are heavier, and the Australian one falls somewhere in between. Depends on options as well.

We'll see how close the Alpine gets to its forecast weight, when the time comes.
