Ohlin's

Just how sexy are these? We are out playing with them at the moment, got a couple of track days planned and then its off to Ohlins at the Nurburgring from the 27th onward's. Should be a laugh!

Jamie-

Thanks for the link. I understand the benefit of the external reservoir (additional cooling & fluid volume) and the variable spring rates for street & track usage, but what adjustability do these have? Is it a single dial (both compression & rebound) or is it a dual? I assume at the 2500GBP, that its single like the Bilstein & KW V2s that are currently on the market. What do you think the main difference is between these Ohlins & the others?

What does it do to ride height? I'm looking at shocks, but don't want to adjust height from stock...

Thanks
-DrPyro

They are adjustable for bump and rebound separately, ride height is adjustable so you can have stock ride height if required. from our our point of view these are the best we have tried so far, they control the ride without being harsh, it is quite a trick. We have been working on setups for quite a while and we have tried most shocks and springs on the 4C now and the Ohlin's are quite simply the best.

Jaimie,

For those of us who track our car a lot or mostly do canyon runs, would you feel that the Black series Novitec's would be better in this set up? I know they are very stiff and engineered for the track only.
I know Ohlin's is one of the best shock companies out. I've ran them on offroad bikes but never my cars.

I ran Tanabe Sustec 7's on my other car. It was amazing being able to just click a button and adjust the suspension immediately. Would there be any ability to adjust the suspension on the fly, like these setups have?

Wow if I read the price correctly it says 2500 euro? Pounds? That's...cheaper than I thought Ohlins would be, might have my Bilsteins on sale soon

I can't see a comparison with the Novitec Black Series being really fair, to have a reasonable comparison you'd have to go up to the Competizione+. Same-ish money and tech level. From other Öhlins-kitted cars I have experience from I'd suggest that the Road & Track has an almost unreal ability to blend road and track abilities. The Competizione+ is track focussed and is only acceptable on the road. (And as great on the track as you'd expect.)

What's the ETA on the first batch? How many units will it contain? How many of the initial spots are reserved at this point?
